In Our Own Words
Permanency
I know I will have to move
Yet Again.
Here and There.
Questions
Was I not good enough to
Fight for?
What did I do wrong?
You promised
that this was the last
Time. Place.
Packed my bags everything
I own. Leave
Behind everything known.
Walls fly up as we
Approach A new door
Please just leave me alone!
Confusion arises but I'm too Angry
to Care!!
One person of many held my hand
She made me smile again
Through pain long journeys
on the road here we
talk about little things big things
On my knees crying
not sure where to go
Run. Turn.
Listen you are not alone.
I got your back
Through thick and thin.
Everything in between
You were never wrong or bad
Trust me. Grow with me. See
Yourself as I see you.
Acceptance. Only A Phone Call
or Text away.
I will show up on your doorstep
just to hug you.
I will give you that type of
Stability
To lean on when
Life
gets
rough.
Those shattered pieces of you
I will help you put back together
I am your friend that
will help keep you safe.
I am that person that can tell
When everything is falling
complicatedly apart
I am that person that
When all else fails
I will be there
I am that person that can tell you
“I love you”
Without strings attached or expecting
anything in return.
I am that person that is going to stay
not leave you or hurt you
Just be there with you
Make you laugh through tears
Hold your hands to bring you
back to reality
Take you out to eat.
Protect you.
Be real with you.
Never judge you.
Believe in you.
I and we will support you.
This is my permanency.
My team. My support.
An outreached hand.
To help me take that first
trusting unknowing
step
into my future.
Safety. Love. Acceptance. Hope
