In 2007, the accomplishments of YLAT member Kala Clark were featured in a CBS Evening News segment, “From foster child to fostering change: Teen helps create law to reunite brothers and sisters from broken homes,” reported by Kelly Wallace. In 2006, an article on “Youth voices for change” in Voice, a publication of Casey Family Services, acknowledged Maine’s YLAT for its groundbreaking work in assisting the state child welfare organization to draft policy regarding siblings in foster care.

In 2004, O (The Oprah magazine) contained an article written by ABC’s Cynthia McFadden that profiled Amber, a youth leader in YLAT, illustrating her courage in seeking to improve her life circumstances even in the face of adversity.
