YLAT creates connections
Recognizing that much of the life of a young person in care takes place outside of the child welfare system, YLAT has taken steps to engage the broader community. The results: greater awareness and increased knowledge about the needs of youth in care, increased contributions, and lasting commitments to youth in care by some community members of those who hear the message.
Additionally, as young people get to know each other and the adult partners, locally and statewide, connections are deepened and strengthened, leading to helping youth get connected to people, resources, opportunities, and events in the community.
