YLAT's 35th Annual Teen Conference
Bright Beginnings: Growing Stronger Together

Our 35th annual Teen Conference was held on June 25, 2025, at Colby College. A total of 58 young people and 81 adult partners (including resource vendors, presenters, resource parents, and other adult partner attendees such as OCFS staff) attended.
The day was centered around young people, with three youth emcees, honoring the YLAT Navigator role to uplift the significance of alumni of care in the community, and utilizing the unique offerings of Colby College to give youth an unforgettable experience.
Workshop options provided opportunities for young people to engage in creative pursuits, connect directly with programs and organizations that offer post-secondary or professional opportunities, and choose their own pathway throughout the conference. Youth had many options for their morning workshop choice and also had agency in choosing their preferred community and relationship-building time in the afternoon, choosing from numerous recreational and art activities.
Teen Conference attendees were privileged to spend the day with keynote speaker Keri Richmond, which was a highlight for all in attendance, as Keri shepherded the group through her moving address, titled “Rewriting the Story: Lean In, Let Go, Level Up." Keri also held a youth yoga workshop in the morning!
