Teen Conference Planning Committee

The Teen Conference Planning Committee is a monthly Zoom group for YLAT members, current or former youth in care, Youth Transition Specialists and caseworkers, and YLAT staff to come together to plan our annual Teen Conference!

Meetings cover a range of topics such as:

  • Conference theme & logo

  • Keynote speaker

  • Conference workshops

  • Vibe, playlist, youth participation

Nick Tucker, our keynote speaker in 2026, was chosen by our Teen Conference planning committee 

Youth earn a $20 stipend for attending and build their skills in sharing input, collaborating with one another, and contributing to a meaningful yearly tradition.

YLAT is a joint project between Maine youth who have experienced foster care, Maine's Department of Health and Human Services, and the Catherine Cutler Institute at University of Southern Maine. YLAT is committed to improving the short-term and long-term outcomes for youth who have experienced foster care.
