2022 Teen Conference

Our Voice, Our Time, Our Future

It was great to see all of you on this fun and exciting day!!

The 32nd Annual Teen Conference for youth in Maine’s Child Welfare System and the adults who care for them was held on June 26, 2022, at the University of Southern Maine's Lewiston/Auburn College campus. One-hundred-forty individuals attended this year’s conference, themed “Our Voice, Our Time, Our Future.” Our keynote speakers, shared their experiences and how they have overcome many barriers with passion and were filled with positive encouragement, emotion, and education. Young people who attended the conference stated they had the opportunity to learn that leadership skills and voice and that they are not alone.

YLAT is a joint project between Maine’s Youth in Foster Care, The Maine Department of Health and Human Services, and the Catherine Cutler Institute at University of Southern Maine. YLAT is committed to improving the short-term and long-term outcomes for youth who are or have been in foster care.
